The Original HighRoller was designed and patented in 1987 by Blake Gills from Gurdon, Arkansas. He took his lure to Jack Smithwick, who manufactured and distributed it until 1989 when he sold out to PRADCO. As a result, he lost the rights to sell it to PRADCO.
In 1997, Blake Gills and Skip Collins went to visit Darcy Ellis in Florida and decided to start a company that would produce the Original HighRoller as well as other lure designs. We felt there was a market for a custom wood lure in an industry that has gone to mass produced plastic lures that are being produced abroad. We now offer 9 different products with 15 color patterns that are produced in the USA with the versatility of fresh and saltwater applications.
